Cooked playdough


2 cups flour (If using gluten free flour use 2 and a half cups of flour)

2 cups water

1 cup salt

2 tbsps vegetable oil

1 tbsp cream of tartar

You can add any food colouring, paint, glitter or scented oils for interest.

Mix all the ingredients together in a saucepan and stir over a low heat. The dough will thicken to look like mashed potatoes.

Once it comes cleanly away from the sides of the pan and forms a lump in the middle, remove from the heat and allow the dough to cool. If it is still a bit sticky you need to cook it a bit longer - it will end up with the texture of bought play dough.
